Свенсон Вильямс (Williams Swainson, 1789—1856) — известный английский естествоиспытатель, жил и умер в Новой Зеландии. Научные труды Свенсон Вильямс посвящены преимущественно естественной истории птиц и насекомых и конхиологии. Он напечатал, между прочим: "A treatise of taxidermy; with the bibliography of zoologists" (Лондон, 1840): "A preliminary discourse on the s tudy of natural history" (Л., 1841); "History of the Birds of Western Africa" (Jardine, "The natur. libr.", 1837, 2 т.); "Zoological illustrations, or original figures and descriptions of new, rare or otherwise interesting aminals etc." (Л., 1820—1833, 6 тт.); "A treatise on the natural history and classification of animals" (Лонд., 1835); "The elements of modern conchiology etc." (Л., 1834); "On the history and natural arrangement of Insects" (вместе с Шукардом, Л., 1840) и ми. др.
